‘Back to Hogwarts’ 2026 Comes to the Palace of Versailles — Here’s How to Get Free Tickets
One of the biggest dates on the Harry Potter fan calendar is heading somewhere truly spectacular: the 2026 edition of “Back to Hogwarts” will take over the Palace of Versailles on August 29, 2026 — and the daytime celebration is free.
Announced by Warner Bros. Discovery, this year’s gathering lands during a milestone moment: the 25th anniversary of the very first film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. After last year’s “The Great Exam” at the Sainte-Geneviève Library, the event moves to one of France’s most iconic landmarks, with festivities unfolding across the gardens of Versailles.
The flagship moment takes place in the Orangery: a three-hour spell-casting workshop led by Paul Harris, the duel choreographer behind the wand battles in the Harry Potter films. Aspiring witches and wizards can recreate iconic spells in sessions running from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with additional activities and surprises scattered along the garden paths.
The daytime program in the Orangery Gardens is free but requires registration, with tickets going on sale June 3, 2026 via the official site.
There’s also an evening component — a special Harry Potter edition of the Grandes Eaux Nocturnes at Versailles, complete with a fireworks finale — but note that the evening event is already sold out.
