Own a Piece of Hogwarts: Harry Potter Props Go Up for Bid at Propstore’s LA Summer Auction
Ever dreamed of catching the Snitch? This August, you’ll get your chance — provided your vault at Gringotts runs deep enough.
Propstore’s Summer Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction runs August 26–29 in Los Angeles, bringing more than 1,700 lots of original film and TV props, costumes and production material to the block with a combined pre-sale estimate of around $10 million. Bidding opens each day at 9:30 AM PDT, with in-person, online, phone and absentee bidding all available. Among them are more than 40 Harry Potter lots spanning all eight films — and we’ve rounded up every single one below.
Leading the pack
Three lots share the top opening bid of $12,500 (against a $25,000–$50,000 estimate apiece): an original Golden Snitch from Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry Potter’s Gryffindor robe from Chamber of Secrets, and Harry’s Hogwarts acceptance letter with its wax-sealed envelope. The Snitch is the marquee piece — one of the first six ever made, sculpted by prop maker Pierre Bohanna and used on set as a lighting and scale reference, with every shot of its wings in the finished film created using CGI. Just behind them: Draco Malfoy’s Slytherin robe (opening at $10,000) and a Hogwarts student’s Quidditch broom ($7,500).
Every Harry Potter lot, ranked by opening bid
Starting bids run from $12,500 down to $250. Propstore opens each lot at half its low estimate, and a buyer’s premium applies on top of the hammer price. Tap any piece to see its full details and bid on Propstore’s site.
