Korean Brand J.Dot Launches Official Harry Potter Ornament That Plays Your Own Videos

Deck the tree with a little bit of movie magic: a Korean design brand has turned an ordinary Christmas ornament into a tiny screen for your own memories. J.Dot is launching the “Memorable Ornament,” its first officially licensed Harry Potter product, on the Korean crowdfunding platform Wadiz — and it is arriving under the film series’ 25th anniversary banner.
The piece is billed as a design object that reinterprets the Harry Potter world visually, drawing on J.Dot’s background staging Christmas trees and seasonal displays for hotels and cultural spaces. But the hook is what’s inside it.
What’s Actually Inside It
The Memorable Ornament is a digital display built into a bauble. Six motion videos made from official Harry Potter artwork come pre-installed, and the Harry Potter logo appears on screen when you switch it on. Past that, it’s yours to fill: a free companion app pairs with the ornament over Bluetooth, so you can send a photo or a short video straight from your phone and resize it to fit the frame.
The listing also spells out the smaller details — a manual is included, the finished product has a black back, and the packaging doubles as a display stand so the ornament can sit on a shelf rather than hang. J.Dot says it’s still refining the case finish and will show the completed packaging in campaign updates, so the box you see now isn’t final.

Price and Campaign Dates
Wadiz lists the Memorable Ornament at 79,000 KRW — roughly $57 at current exchange rates. Funding opens Wednesday, August 20, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. KST and runs through September 1; the page was still sitting in its pre-launch state at the time of writing, so nothing is purchasable just yet.
J.Dot is advertising an “ultra super early bird” tier at 34% off, capped at the first 300 units, with the remaining reward tiers — including full sets — revealed when the campaign goes live. As with any crowdfunding project, treat the ship date as a target rather than a guarantee until backers start receiving units.
The Tech Isn’t New — the Magic Is
If a screen-in-an-ornament sounds familiar, that’s because it is: “memory” ornaments and video-playing baubles that stream your own photos and clips have been floating around the market for years, sold generically by everyone from Etsy makers to Amazon sellers and gadget catalogs — no wizarding license required. What J.Dot is adding here isn’t the technology so much as the Harry Potter of it: an officially licensed take on that format, wrapped in the franchise’s world.
The one hardware advantage J.Dot claims is convenience. The company says most comparable products on the market can only take images over a USB cable, where the Memorable Ornament handles it wirelessly through the app. That’s the maker’s own pitch rather than an independent test, but it’s the practical difference it’s leading with. So if you like the concept and don’t care about the branding, plainer versions already exist; if the appeal is a piece that’s genuinely part of the Wizarding World, that’s the gap this one fills.
J.Dot Says This Is Just the First Piece
The brand is framing the ornament as the start of something larger rather than a one-off. J.Dot says it plans to roll out more Harry Potter Christmas-themed products in sequence, positioning this as the opening piece in an experience-driven, story-led line. Nothing beyond the ornament has been shown yet, so what that line actually looks like is still an open question.
For Fans Outside Korea
This is a Korea-first launch on a domestic crowdfunding platform. Wadiz does serve an English version of the campaign page, which makes reading the details easy enough, but backing a project there generally still requires a Korean payment method and a domestic delivery address. Fans abroad who want one will most likely need a proxy or forwarding service that can handle Wadiz orders, and it’s worth watching J.Dot’s own channels for whether a wider retail release follows the crowdfunding run.
