Run for Your House: Harry Potter Quidditch Fun Run Hits Mexico City This November
Mount your brooms — or at least lace up your trainers. The Harry Potter Quidditch Fun Run 2026 is coming to Mexico City on Sunday, November 1, 2026, a house-themed road race organized by Asdeporte that starts and finishes at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario in Ciudad Universitaria. Registration is open now (this is a ticketed event, not a free one), with the starting gun set for 8:30 a.m.

The distances
There are three ways to run — and yes, one of them is exactly what you’re hoping:
- 4K — a recreational walk for the 4 Hogwarts Houses
- 9¾K — a 9.750 km race, in honor of a certain platform at King’s Cross
- 14K — one kilometer for each of the 14 players on a Quidditch pitch

Runners register representing one of the four Hogwarts houses — Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw — and the event is capped at 15,000 participants. The top three overall finishers in the 9¾K and 14K take home trophies, in both the men’s and women’s divisions, with time limits of 1 hour 21 minutes and 2 hours 10 minutes respectively.
How to register
Registration runs through Asdeporte’s official site. A BBVA presale opened August 5 with 15% off for BBVA card payments, and general sale followed on August 7 — with a 15,000-runner cap and this much Potter branding, spots are not expected to linger. Race kits include a commemorative number, and finishers cross the line to collectible medals.
The race kit is built around house identity too: runners get a jersey in their house colors, plus a hoodie, tote bag, house socks, and a finisher medal.

The timing is no accident: the run lands about two months before the HBO series premieres on Christmas Day, and one day after Halloween — a fitting weekend for the wizarding world to take over Mexico City.
