McGonagall and the Weasley Twins Are the Next “Pocket Potters” — Preorders Are Open Now

Transfiguration’s most formidable professor and Hogwarts’ most incorrigible troublemakers are getting the pocket-sized treatment. Bloomsbury has revealed the next two entries in its Pocket Potters line — Professor McGonagall and Fred and George Weasley — and both are open for pre-order now ahead of a 2027 release.

The Pocket Potters are Bloomsbury’s official illustrated mini-guides to the Harry Potter books: 32-page hardbacks, one character apiece, packed with story moments, quotes and fun facts, with a different illustrator on every title. Five are already on shelves, and Hagrid and Dobby joined them this month.

Bloomsbury lists both at £7.00, and pre-order pages are live now. One caveat on the American side: that March 2 date comes from retailer listings rather than an official Scholastic announcement, and this series has form here — Hagrid and Dobby were announced for August 18 in the US and have since moved to September 1. Treat the US date as provisional until Scholastic confirms it.

More Characters Are Still Coming

Bloomsbury’s reveal ended with a promise rather than a lineup: more favourites are still to come. No names and no dates have been attached to those yet, so treat anything beyond McGonagall and the twins as unannounced for now. Fans in the replies are already lobbying hard for Snape.

One Update on Hagrid and Dobby

The Hagrid and Dobby guides landed in the UK on August 13 as planned. The US date has moved, though: Bloomsbury now points American readers to September 1, rather than the August 18 date given when the two books were first announced. Scholastic’s own store now lists both books as pre-orders shipping on or around September 1, at a $12.99 list price, and Amazon and Walmart match that date. If you pre-ordered in the US, that is a two-week slip rather than a cancellation.
