A Berlin Bathhouse Becomes the Great Hall on August 29 — and Entry Is Free

Berlin is turning a historic swimming pool into the Great Hall for a day, and it will not cost you a single Knut. Back to Hogwarts 2026 Berlin takes over the listed Stadtbad Oderberger Straße on Saturday, August 29, as Germany’s centrepiece event in Warner Bros. Discovery’s worldwide 25th-anniversary celebrations.

For one day the bathhouse is dressed as Hogwarts’ Great Hall, complete with four long house tables. Every visitor becomes part of a single collective mosaic artwork celebrating 25 years of Harry Potter, built from fans’ own favourite memories of the stories.

What’s Inside

  • Partner stations from LEGO, Thalia, Carlsen Verlag, Rubies and Audible, with HBO Max also involved
  • An exclusive pop-up shop
  • Themed photo motifs and giveaways
  • The fan mosaic, the day’s centrepiece

The Tickets Are Free — and Already Gone

Entry costs nothing, but it runs on free one-hour time slots, and those slots are currently sold out. That is not the end of the road. Half of the venue’s capacity is deliberately held back for walk-ins from 11am, and the organisers ask fans who can no longer attend to cancel so their slot returns to the pool. Ticket holders get priority at the door, so it is worth re-checking the booking page before the day.

Before You Go

  • When: Saturday, August 29, 2026, 11:00–19:00
  • Where: Stadtbad Oderberger Straße, Oderberger Straße 57, 10435 Berlin (Prenzlauer Berg)
  • Entry is guaranteed up to 30 minutes after your booked slot begins; after that it depends on capacity
  • Children: ages 6 and up need their own ticket; under-6s enter free with a ticketed adult
  • One slot per person, so groups need to book individually
  • Bags: small only (smaller than A4) — there is a bag check and no cloakroom
  • Food and drink: none sold on site and none admitted; 0.5 litres of water per person is allowed, no glass bottles
  • Access: step-free entry is available; no pets
  • A professional photo and video crew will be filming for Warner Bros. and HBO Max channels

Germany’s Wider Back to Hogwarts Week

Berlin’s bathhouse is one piece of a much bigger German programme. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone returns to German cinemas from August 28 to September 3 with twelve minutes of previously unreleased behind-the-scenes footage, and selected cinemas are screening all eight films. There is also the Thalia and Osiander bookshop roadshow running nationwide, and the DroneArt Show: Harry Potter lighting up the night sky in Berlin, Cologne, Hamburg, Leipzig and Munich.
