Krum Trades His Broom for a RAV4: Stan Yanevski Stars in Toyota Croatia’s New Campaign
Even a Triwizard champion, it turns out, can be talked into a test drive. Stan Yanevski — the Bulgarian actor who flew in as Viktor Krum in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire — is the unlikely face of Toyota Croatia’s latest promotional video for the new RAV4.
In the clip, Yanevski stands in a dark tie, a wand in hand, and a battered broom abandoned on the pavement behind him. The gag writes itself — why ride a broom when there’s a new RAV4 waiting? Toyota Croatia leaned all the way in, captioning the post (in Croatian) that apparently not even wizards can resist a spin in the new model, and joking that they still aren’t sure who looks more dangerous: him, or the car.
The video was shot at this year’s SFeraKon, the long-running science-fiction and fantasy convention in Zagreb, where Yanevski appeared alongside fellow Potter alum Josh Herdman, who played Gregory Goyle. The pair spent the weekend talking with fans about how they landed their roles and what life on set was like.
Yanevski has stayed close to the fandom over the years, regularly posting Harry Potter content to his sizeable Instagram following — so a tongue-in-cheek wizard cameo lands right on brand.
