Harry Potter Night Comes to Amarillo’s HODGETOWN on June 20

Accio first pitch! The Wizarding World is swapping the Quidditch pitch for the pitcher’s mound this weekend. On Saturday, June 20, the Amarillo Sod Poodles will host Harry Potter Night at HODGETOWN, transforming the Texas Panhandle ballpark into a Hogwarts-on-the-diamond celebration as the Double-A club takes on the Midland RockHounds.

The headline act: the Soddies will take the field in custom Harry Potter-themed jerseys for the night. Those game-worn jerseys won’t just stay in the clubhouse, either — after the final out, each one (signed by the player or coach who wore it) goes up for auction to benefit the Don Harrington Discovery Center, with select jerseys sold live at the stadium’s club level immediately postgame and the rest available online through 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 21.

Fans who arrive early are in for a treat of their own. The first 1,000 through the gates receive a mystery Hogwarts House hat — you won’t know whether you’re repping Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, or Ravenclaw until you open it. The same one-of-a-kind cap comes bundled with the Harry Potter Ticket Package, and limited-edition Harry Potter tees will be on sale inside the team store, cheekily renamed The Burrow for the occasion.

No wizarding night would be complete without themed concessions. HODGETOWN stands will be pouring Butter Beers and serving Churro Wands for one night only, and the evening wraps with a postgame fireworks display set to music from the Harry Potter films.
