Bandai Launches Harry Potter Philosopher’s Stone Gashapon Miniatures

Accio pocket change! Japan’s beloved capsule-toy machines have a new Wizarding World temptation, and this one goes right back to where it all began. Bandai has rolled out a “Harry Potter Miniature Collection: Philosopher’s Stone Series” gashapon line, dropping five tiny treasures from the first film into capsule machines nationwide.

It’s a fitting tribute in a milestone year — 2026 marks the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone — and the lineup leans straight into the movie’s most iconic objects and locations.

Here’s what you can pull:

  • Hogwarts Express — the scarlet steam engine that carries students to school
  • The Philosopher’s Stone — the legendary blood-red stone at the heart of the story
  • The Mirror of Erised — the ornate mirror that reveals the viewer’s deepest desire
  • The Fat Lady — the portrait who guards the entrance to Gryffindor Tower
  • The Golden Snitch — featuring a special gold clear-wing version

Each capsule runs ¥500 (roughly $3.50), and like all gashapon it’s pot luck which of the five you get, so completists may need a few tries. The set is rated for ages 15 and up, and it began rolling into Japanese machines in the third week of June 2026.

A quick note for fans outside Japan: this is a Japan-only release dispensed from physical gashapon machines, so there’s no official US listing. International collectors can still get in through proxy-shopping and import services, or by tracking down complete sets on resale marketplaces like Mercari, eBay, and Rakuten — just expect to pay a premium over that ¥500 machine price.

Which of the five would you most want to find in your capsule? Let us know in the comments, and don’t forget to follow along for the latest Harry Potter news.
