Rumor: Hogwarts Legacy 2 Could Be Revealed at the Next PlayStation State of Play

Rumor alert: speculation is building that Hogwarts Legacy 2 could finally be revealed at the next PlayStation State of Play — and the timing would rhyme with history.

The original Hogwarts Legacy was itself revealed at a State of Play back in March 2022, then launched about 11 months later. So if the sequel surfaces this month or next, that would line it up for a possible spring or summer 2027 release.

Where’s this coming from? A leaker known as Tidux claims the reveal is set for the next State of Play. It’s worth stressing that Tidux has a mixed track record, so treat this as unconfirmed. That said, reliable industry insider Nate the Hate has indicated he has a rough idea of when the next State of Play is happening — suggesting it’s close.

There’s also some circumstantial evidence stacking up at developer Avalanche Software:

  • The studio recently hired a community manager — something it last did just months before the first game’s reveal
  • It also brought on a video capture artist to work on trailers and marketing

Those are exactly the kinds of hires studios make right before a reveal. It also makes sense from WB Games’ side, since they’d likely want the sequel in the spotlight near the HBO series’ December 25, 2026 debut.

Big caveat: even if a reveal is close, it might not be at a State of Play — events like Summer Game Fest or an Xbox showcase are also possibilities. For now, file this firmly under rumor.
