Bloomsbury Drops New ‘Half-Blood Prince’ Illustrated Art, From the Dark Mark to Trelawney’s Warning
The Dark Mark is hanging over Hogwarts again — this time in full colour.
Bloomsbury released a new batch of interior artwork from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Illustrated Edition on September 18, 2026, just under three weeks ahead of the book’s global release.

What’s in the new batch
Three scenes were shown: the Dark Mark appearing over Hogwarts, Harry and Tonks approaching the school gates, and Trelawney predicting tragedy inside the castle. All three are full-colour scene illustrations rather than character portraits — worth noting, because the portraits already had their moment.
Back in March 2026, Bloomsbury put out a first look at the interiors that included owl post at the Burrow, Spinner’s End and Katie Bell, along with the first-ever illustrations of Professor Slughorn, Narcissa Malfoy and Professor Flitwick. September’s drop adds to that rather than replacing it.

Artist Levi Pinfold took over the Illustrated Editions from Jim Kay for the final two books. We covered the cover reveal and the deluxe edition back in June — the cover shows Harry and Dumbledore ringed by fire in the cave, wands raised against the Inferi.
