From Westeros to Hogwarts: ‘Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ Star Dexter Sol Ansell Eyes HBO’s ‘Harry Potter’
Egg might be eyeing a transfer to Hogwarts. Dexter Sol Ansell — the 11-year-old breakout playing Aegon “Egg” Targaryen in HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms — has revealed that HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series sits near the top of his wish list.
Asked which other shows he’d love to join, Ansell named the Wizarding World reboot, saying he’d jump at the chance to visit the set even just for a day to see how it’s all put together. He even joked about how funny it would be to bump into Harry himself in a corridor on his way to class. Stranger Things also made his list, after meeting that cast at a recent Comic-Con.
For now this is pure fan enthusiasm rather than casting news — Ansell hasn’t been linked to any role in the series, which is currently in production for HBO. But it’s an endearing wish from one of the most talked-about young actors working today. Beyond Egg, he’s played young Coriolanus Snow in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and he’s already drawing early awards buzz for his work on Knight.
With HBO’s Harry Potter still assembling its enormous cast, a cheeky cameo from a fellow fantasy up-and-comer isn’t the wildest idea we’ve heard. Stranger things have happened.
