‘Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone’ in Concert Comes to San Diego This August
Hogwarts is heading to the San Diego bayfront — and it’s bringing a full symphony along for the ride.
The San Diego Symphony will perform John Williams’ beloved score live while “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” plays in full on the big screen. The two-night film concert takes over The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park on Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22, 2026, with both shows beginning at 7 p.m.
Conductor Justin Freer leads the orchestra through every cue of Williams’ Oscar-nominated music — from the first chimes of Hedwig’s Theme to Harry’s maiden broomstick flight — synced note for note to the picture. It’s the original 2001 film, uncut, paired with live music under the open San Diego sky.
The Rady Shell is the Symphony’s waterfront venue at 222 Marina Park Way, right on San Diego Bay. The concert is open to all ages, so younger witches and wizards can come along too. Tickets run from $51 to $173 depending on seating, and since these live-to-film nights have a habit of selling out, fans who want in should grab seats sooner rather than later.
