“Harry Potter – The Collection”: The 52-Statue Italian Newsstand Series English Fandom Completely Missed
Every other Saturday, a small piece of Hogwarts turns up at Italian newsstands — and English-speaking fandom has barely noticed.
Since 27 December 2025, RCS MediaGroup has been publishing Harry Potter – The Collection, an official 52-issue series of 3D character statues sold through La Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere della Sera. It is one of the largest officially licensed Harry Potter statue lines running anywhere right now, and it is almost entirely absent from the English-language collecting conversation.
How It Works
The format is the classic Italian collezione in edicola — a partwork you assemble issue by issue from the newsstand rather than buy as a boxed set. Issue one, Harry in his Gryffindor uniform, launched at a promotional €7.99 (about $9). Every issue from Hermione onward costs €15.99 (about $18), and that price sits on top of the newspaper’s cover price. Each issue ships with a statue and a fascicolo — a booklet of set trivia and character background.

Complete the set and you will have spent €823.48, about $942, on statues alone — before counting 52 newspapers on top.
Dollar figures throughout are approximate, converted at roughly $1.14 to the euro in mid-July 2026, and will drift with the exchange rate. The collection is priced in euros only.
The Names Are Not the Names You Know
Here is where the published release schedule turns strange for anyone reading it in English. Italy’s translations localised most of the cast, so the plan reads like a wizarding world running slightly out of phase with ours.
Issue four is Albus Silente. Issue seven is Minerva McGranitt. Issue eight is Severus Piton. Further down the list sit Neville Paciok, Quirinus Raptor, Sibilla Cooman, Filius Vitious, Argus Gazza, Gilderoy Allock, Horace Lumacorno, Malocchio Moody and Madama Bumb — Dumbledore, McGonagall, Snape, Longbottom, Quirrell, Trelawney, Flitwick, Filch, Lockhart, Slughorn, Mad-Eye and Madam Pomfrey. Peter Pettigrew turns up as Peter Minus, better known to Italian readers by his Animagus name, Codaliscia. The Death Eaters get a group statue billed as I Mangiamorte.
Fandom has long passed around a story about “Silente”: that the translator heard Dumbledore as something close to dumb and rendered it as “silent”, missing that the original is Old English for bumblebee. It is a good story, and it gets repeated often enough that it is worth treating as folklore rather than established fact.

The Deep Cuts Are the Real Draw
Fifty-two slots is a lot of slots, and it pushes the line somewhere most Western collectible ranges never bother to go.
All three Dursleys are in the plan — Vernon on 4 September 2027, Petunia two weeks later, Dudley two weeks after that. So are Argus Filch, Olympe Maxime, Igor Karkaroff, Madam Pomfrey, Pomona Sprout, Rita Skeeter and Kingsley Shacklebolt. There are three Quidditch variants — Harry, Ron and Draco — and a Yule Ball Hermione.
If you have ever wanted an officially licensed statue of Vernon Dursley, this is, improbably, your moment.
Quality, and Some Very Good Timing
Italian collecting site Michele227 has handled issue one and came away positive, rating it well detailed for a newsstand product — particularly across the fabric texture and the accessories — while reserving judgement on whether that standard holds for the harder faces further down the list, Voldemort and Hagrid among them. Reseller listings put the statues at roughly 13 cm, though that measurement comes from secondary sources rather than the publisher, so treat it as approximate.
The timing is quietly excellent. This is a film-based line, drawn from poses across all eight movies, and it runs straight through HBO’s reboot. Issue 27 — Draco Malfoy in Quidditch kit — lands on 26 December 2026, the morning after the new series premieres.
Can Fans Outside Italy Get It?
Not easily. Back issues are sold through Gazzetta Store, the Corriere della Sera store and PrimaEdicola, but none of them advertise international shipping clearly, and we could not confirm whether any of them ship outside Italy.
In practice, eBay Italy is the realistic route. Sellers there are listing single issues from roughly €18 to €20 (about $21 to $23) plus postage — a premium over the newsstand price, but it beats committing to a two-year run of a newspaper you cannot read for the sake of one Luna Lovegood.
