Le Cirque Arcanus at Epic Universe Will Temporarily Close June 21–30
A bit of misdirection worthy of the Ministry itself has been swirling around Epic Universe this week — but the reality is far less dramatic than the headlines suggest. Universal has confirmed that Le Cirque Arcanus, the live stage spectacular in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, will close temporarily from June 21 through June 30, 2026, reopening on July 1.
Le Cirque Arcanus is the theatrical centerpiece of the Fantastic Beasts–inspired land, blending live performers, puppetry, projection mapping, special effects and magical creatures into a circus staged in 1920s wizarding Paris. This is a 10-day pause, not a closure for good — despite a wave of coverage that framed it as the end of a Harry Potter attraction barely a year after it opened.
Crucially, the land’s other headline experience stays open throughout. Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry — the ride that sends guests through the Métro-Floo into Dolores Umbridge’s trial — will keep running while the stage show is dark. Anyone visiting Epic Universe during that window will still get a full Ministry of Magic experience; they’ll simply miss the live show until it returns on July 1.
The Ministry of Magic land opened alongside Epic Universe on May 22, 2025, as the third Wizarding World area at Universal Orlando, after Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. Universal hasn’t detailed a reason for the brief closure, and short, planned downtimes like this are routine for live shows. (One unconfirmed footnote for the rumor mill: earlier this year Universal filed permits referencing roughly 150,000 square feet of construction near the land, fueling expansion speculation — though there’s no indication it’s connected to this closure.)
