Say Goodbye to the Sunday Roast: Harry Potter Cafe Tokyo’s Big Menu Shake-Up Hits September 1

Pour one out for the Sunday Roast. The Harry Potter Cafe in Tokyo’s Akasaka district is overhauling a big chunk of its menu on Tuesday, September 1, 2026 — and while the new arrivals are the headline, the more urgent news is what’s leaving. Ten dishes come off the menu on August 31.

The new menu

The centerpiece is the Hogwarts Burger (¥1,990, about US$12.50), which comes in four house versions: a whole-wheat bun with a patty, bacon and grilled onion, finished with a house-colored cheese sauce — tomato for Gryffindor, basil for Slytherin, cheddar for Hufflepuff, and butterfly-pea for Ravenclaw. Each arrives with its house plate and pick, plus fries and a garlic mayonnaise dusted in matching house-colored powder.

Joining it:

  • Hedwig Omelet — butter rice shaped into Hedwig resting with her head tilted, served with demi-glace
  • Hogwarts Onion Soup with Bread — slow-cooked onion and bacon under melted cheese, with toast and a yogurt-basil dip
  • Greenhouse Salad with Mandrake and the Mandrake Pot
  • Hogwarts Chips
  • Philosopher’s Stone Pancakes and Golden Snitch Pancakes

Over at the takeout counter, Harry Potter Cafe Window adds Hedwig and Hogwarts Express select drinks on the same date.

How to visit

The cafe is on the 1st floor of Akasaka Biz Tower, 5-3-1 Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo. Cafe hours run 10:00–17:00, with dinner from 17:00–22:00; the takeout Window runs 11:00–21:00 with last order at 20:30.

Reservations go through the official site, and the booking rhythm is worth knowing: the following month’s reservations open at noon on the 15th of each month. Some same-day seats are held back, and the Window needs no reservation at all — useful if you’re passing through Akasaka without a booking.
