The “Harry Potter” 25th Anniversary Theater Merch Guide: What Every Chain Is Selling (and When)
The Hogwarts Express is pulling into a concession stand near you. With all eight Harry Potter films returning to theaters worldwide from August 27 through September 3 for the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, theater chains are unveiling one of the biggest movie-merch lines we’ve ever seen — sculpted popcorn buckets, house cups, collectible tins — and the reveals are landing daily. Here’s the chain-by-chain guide to what’s selling, where, and when.
Jump to your country above — every section lists what is actually on sale there, with prices in local currency. Last updated 17 August 2026.
The “25 Years of Magic” Line
One licensed collectibles line anchors the celebration; each chain picks its own assortment and sets its own prices. The headliners:
- Hogwarts Express Popcorn Bucket — a red-and-gold locomotive numbered 5972 with rolling wheels and a working water-vapor “steam” chimney, and yes, it holds popcorn inside
- Nimbus 2000 Broom Bucket — a near-full-scale broom that unscrews mid-shaft; the bristle end holds the popcorn
- Sorting Hat Bucket — the hat opens to reveal the popcorn, perched on a stack of four house-colored books
- House “Grippr” Cups — four 32oz cups dressed as house uniforms with matching straws
- 130oz Collectible Tins — two art designs, castle and Hogwarts Express
A word on the dollar prices you’ll see below: Swan Drive-In in Blue Ridge, Georgia — which ships nationwide — quietly listed the entire vendor line on July 28, days before any major chain, making it both the reference pricing for the collection and the easiest way to order most of it right now. Fair warning: things are already moving — the Nimbus 2000 is sold out there.

Cinemark: First to Shelves — and the Only True Exclusive
Cinemark went first, with merch live now in select theaters and at shop.cinemark.com. It also holds the one genuine chain exclusive so far: a Limited Edition Gold Sorting Hat bucket, sold in theaters only — it’s not on the website, and fans were buying it on day one. Fan photos from the concession stand now peg it at $59.95 with an XL popcorn — and show the in-theater versions of the regular lineup come with food included: the $44.95 Sorting Hat pairs with an XL popcorn and the $24.95 Grippr cups come filled with a fountain drink.

Regal: The Biggest Lineup, Arriving August 27
Regal revealed six items, landing in select theaters August 27 while supplies last (no prices yet): the Nimbus 2000, the steam-puffing Hogwarts Express, and a Hogwarts Trunk container — each sold with a large popcorn — plus a collectible combo pairing the 130oz tin with a 24oz cup topped by a Golden Snitch, a hooded blanket, and a Hedwig Shoulder Pal plush. Tickets are $9.75 across the run, with 3D versions of Sorcerer’s Stone and Deathly Hallows Part 2 — and Regal’s own graphic brands it “Ticket Price 9¾.”
AMC, Marcus and Harkins
AMC showed its line physically at San Diego Comic-Con — the Hogwarts Express, Nimbus 2000, a Hogsmeade village tin, a Hogwarts-houses bucket, and the house cups — but it remains the biggest gap in this guide. As of August 16 it has still published no prices and no on-sale date, its Instagram carries no Harry Potter post at all, and a search of its online shop returns only evergreen Harry Potter merchandise with no 25th anniversary items. Press reports point to shelves around August 20; treat that as an estimate, not AMC’s word.
Marcus says its collectibles are “coming soon,” with a reveal carousel shouting the Express’s official callouts: “WATER VAPOR PLUME!” and “HOLDS POPCORN INSIDE!” Its Harry Potter Passport covers all eight films for $30, one per day.
Harkins still hasn’t revealed 2026 collectibles — screenings run $6 per film or $30 for the All Access Pass. Last year’s reveal landed August 16–17, so that window has now arrived and passed without an announcement; its recent posts run to ICEE Day and gaming tournaments. If it participates at all this year, the reveal is now overdue rather than pending.
Drive-Ins: The Silhouette Buckets

🇨🇦 Canada
✦ Available in Canada ✦
- 🇨🇦 Canada (Cineplex): the weekly keepsake drops that began August 6 now have prices — House Robe Grippr Cups $25 CAD each, Sorting Hat bucket $40 CAD, Broomstick bucket $50 CAD. Stock is already thin: as of August 16 the Sorting Hat and three of the four Grippr cups are sold out online, Gryffindor is the only cup still listed, and the Broomstick shows as coming soon. Limit one per guest, no rain checks
🇬🇧 United Kingdom & Ireland
✦ Available in the UK ✦
Britain’s reveals landed roughly a fortnight behind America’s — but they arrived carrying something most of the US chains still haven’t published: actual prices.
One correction first, and it cuts both ways. Early coverage framed the British run as Philosopher’s Stone and nothing else, which is wrong — but Britain isn’t getting the standard one-week window either. Vue is running a full Harry Potter Season that rolls out one film a week from 28 August right through to mid-October, not eight films in eight days.
Vue: On Sale August 21 — a Week Before the Films
Vue is the only UK chain to have put numbers on the board, and its merchandise goes on sale 21 August, a full week ahead of the screenings.
Vue’s Harry Potter Season — the full schedule
Philosopher’s Stone (25th Anniversary) — from 28 August
Chamber of Secrets — from 4 September
Prisoner of Azkaban — from 11 September
Goblet of Fire — from 18 September
Order of the Phoenix — from 25 September
Half-Blood Prince — from 2 October
Deathly Hallows – Part 1 — from 9 October
Deathly Hallows – Part 2 — from 16 October
Harry Potter 25th Anniversary Premium Cups
Price: £16.99 (without a drink)
Houses: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw
On sale: August 21
Popcorn Tin and Wand Stirrer
Price: £12.99 (popcorn sold separately)
On sale: August 21
Note: this is the same tin-and-wand set Cinemark sells stateside for $24.95 — though the American version comes filled
One rule with no US equivalent: Vue requires a valid ticket for every merchandise purchase. You can’t walk in off the street and buy a cup. Vue also warns that stock moves fast and points fans back to the page for updates, which reads like more items may yet be added.
Cineworld: Snitch-Topper Cups, and the Only 4DX Option
Cineworld’s screenings run from 28 August, and it is the one UK chain putting Philosopher’s Stone into 4DX — motion seats, wind, water and scent — which is the most distinctly British wrinkle in the whole global rollout.
On merch, Cineworld has now confirmed its own lineup: a popcorn tin and cups with three collectable toppers, described on the chain’s own social channels as coming to local Cineworlds soon. That’s a step on from its earlier first-look photo, which showed Golden Snitch-topper cups and an anniversary art tin — we now know the Snitch is one of three topper designs rather than the only one. No prices or firm date published yet.
Odeon: Nothing Yet — and When to Check
If you have been searching for Odeon’s Harry Potter merch, here is the straight answer: as of August 16, there isn’t any. Odeon’s Philosopher’s Stone 25th Anniversary page is live with a 27 August release date — a day earlier than Cineworld and Vue — but the chain has published no Harry Potter merchandise. Its ODEON Scene section carries no Harry Potter merch article, and its live offers run to Spider-Man, Insidious and KATSEYE combos with no Wizarding World entry among them.
That is worth knowing rather than guessing at, because Odeon does reliably publish a merch page for its big releases — it just does so late. The Insidious collectors combo went up on August 7 for an August 12 launch; the Spider-Man merch page landed days before that film opened. If Odeon follows its own pattern, a Harry Potter page should appear around August 20. We’ll update this guide when it does.
Showcase, Ireland and the Ones With Nothing to Report
Showcase Cinemas UK is running Philosopher’s Stone through its Flashback Cinema strand at £6.99 a ticket, with no merchandise announced.
In Ireland, tickets went on sale August 1, with Omniplex Rathmines and Odeon Blanchardstown among the participating sites. No Irish chain has announced collectibles.
And two worth naming so you don’t go hunting: Picturehouse and Everyman have nothing for 2026. Picturehouse listings that surface in searches are leftovers from its May 2025 Harry Potter run, not this year’s event.
Two items from the American line also appear to be missing from Britain altogether: the Hedwig Shoulder Pal plush and the hooded blanket, neither of which has turned up at a UK chain.
🇫🇷 France
✦ Available in France ✦
France does have collectibles — but at one cinema, not a chain. Paris’s Grand Rex listed nine Harry Potter pieces in its own boutique on 15 August, and they ship as well as sell at the counter. The line is the same vendor hardware sold elsewhere, under French names: four Cup Premium house cups at €34 each (95cl, moulded house scarf in relief, black lid and matching straw, “25 Years of Magic” on the body), four Seau Premium XL buckets at €45 each — these are the square silhouette buckets, with Quidditch and Hogwarts Express cut-outs over a translucent house-coloured shell — and a Seau Métal avec Baguette Magique at €29, the metal tin bundled with a wand stirrer. Everything is sold empty.
Gryffindor goes first here too. As of 17 August the Gryffondor cup and the Gryffondor bucket are both sold out, the Serpentard bucket is down to four, and Serdaigle to three. Stock counts sit on each product page, so check before you travel — and note the Grand Rex ships, so this is the easiest route to the square silhouette buckets for anyone outside France now that the US drive-ins have delisted them.
The screenings themselves are nationwide and merch-free. The eight films play 26 August – 1 September at Pathé, in regular and 4DX; Philosopher’s Stone runs 26–30 August in CGR’s immersive ICE auditoriums. UGC sells an eight-film marathon pass at €40; CGR’s runs 29–30 August at €48, or €36 for Club members. The Grand Rex’s own screening is a single show — 30 August, 5pm, on the Grand Large screen, flat €10, with the 12-minute bonus reel after the film; its VIP version is sold out.
Beyond the Grand Rex, the chains are still empty-handed: Pathé, UGC, CGR and Kinepolis France have all posted about the screenings and none has announced a bucket, cup or gift-with-ticket. Kinepolis France runs collector concessions for other releases, so its silence on Harry Potter reads as a decision rather than an oversight. Warner Bros. France is instead putting its weight behind a free Retour à Poudlard day at the Château de Versailles on 29 August, in the Orangerie gardens.
🇧🇪 Belgium
Kinepolis Belgium runs a 24-hour eight-film marathon on 29–30 August across all Belgian sites — €69.99 standard, €58.95 for Student Card and Movie Club members, snacks, drinks and a goodie bag included, starting 9.30am. Ticket holders are entered into a draw for LEGO, Noble Collection and Funko prizes, with two tickets to Harry Potter: The Exhibition in Brussels as the grand prize.
On merchandise, Warner Bros. Belgium’s own release promises “unique and special popcorn buckets and cups” in Kinepolis shops that weekend — but no chain has named a single piece, published a price, or shown a photograph. Treat Belgium as confirmed-but-undescribed until something concrete lands.
🇳🇱 Netherlands
- 🇳🇱 Netherlands (Kinepolis): the one bucket in this whole line that nobody else is getting. Alongside a standard popcorn tin, Kinepolis is selling a shop-exclusive music-box bucket — a navy-to-black drum ringed with moulded gold Gothic window frames and topped with a gold domed lid and finial, and it rotates and plays music. The panels inside those arches carry printed artwork that changes as the barrel turns — a Patronus stag on one face, the Golden Trio on another — with the gold Harry Potter logo and the 25th-anniversary mark on the front. On sale from August 26 at every Dutch Kinepolis while stocks last, limit one per person, and the chain has confirmed in its own comments that you can buy it early on presentation of a Harry Potter ticket. No price published yet. Harry Potter Week runs August 26 – September 2, with all eight films at Almere, Breda, Enschede, Groningen, Leidschendam and Utrecht Jaarbeurs, and every ticket entered into a draw for the €160 LEGO Sorcerer’s Stone Collector’s Edition set.

🇪🇸 Spain
✦ Available in Spain ✦
Kinépolis Spain is taking the standard vendor line rather than the Dutch music-box exclusive. Its own announcement confirms collectible buckets and cups in cinema shops from opening day, in limited numbers and while stocks last, alongside a 28 August re-release also playing in 4DX and in the original language with subtitles. Presale is live on kinepolis.es. No prices published yet — and after the Yoshi and Spider-Man drops, Spanish fans in the comments are already asking the chain to cap purchases per ticket.
🇲🇽 Mexico
✦ Available in Mexico ✦
- 🇲🇽 Mexico (Cinépolis): the palomera has landed, and it’s the Sorting Hat — sculpted atop four house-coloured books, with the hat pulling upward to reach the popcorn. The Palomera Promocional 3D is $859 MXN with butter popcorn included, and four 3D house cups (Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw) are $365 MXN each with a drink. Club Cinépolis Fanático and Súper Fanático members got a presale on August 12; general sale opened August 13 and runs until stock is gone, at selected complexes only. There’s also a $599 MXN VIP themed menu bundling a VIP ticket, themed food and two soft drinks, for 6:00pm screenings on September 1 and 2 across 36 Cinépolis VIP sites. Philosopher’s Stone screens August 27 – September 2. Cinemex, meanwhile, still hasn’t announced any participation
🇧🇷 Brazil
- 🇧🇷 Brazil (Cinemais): the first Brazilian chain merch is in — a glow-in-the-dark Philosopher’s Stone “25 Anos de Magia” collectible bucket, in pre-sale now via the Cinemais site and app, with pickup from August 30, the same single day the film screens at all of its locations. No price published yet. The official reveal below glows for itself
- 🇧🇷 Brazil (Cinemark): a second Brazilian chain joins in — Cinemark’s Sorting Hat combo sets the sculpted hat atop a stack of four house-colored books, sold as a refillable popcorn combo for R$269 (savory) or R$274 (sweet), or 6,725 / 6,850 Cinemark Club points, with pickup August 21–September 4 at the snack bar. Cinemark also debuts Minimark: a special 1L drink cup that hides a surprise mini-plush in its base, launching with six Harry Potter characters to collect and trade — Harry, Ron, Hermione, Hedwig, Dumbledore and Dobby.
View this post on Instagram
One to watch: Brazilian creator Matt Simon says four house-themed collectibles — Gryffindor and Slytherin buckets and matching cups among them — are headed to Brazil’s cinemas for the re-release. Take it with the usual caveat: Cinemark Brazil has so far only officially confirmed the Sorting Hat combo and the Minimark cup, so treat the extra pieces as unverified until a chain makes it official.

🇦🇺 Australia
✦ Available in Australia ✦
- 🇦🇺 Australia (Village Cinemas): the chain that teased this line first, back in May, now has the most complete non-US store anywhere — and it opens earliest. Village starts screening Philosopher’s Stone on August 20, a full week ahead of the global window. Its merch store is live with five pieces: Hogwarts Express popcorn container A$110, Sorting Hat popcorn container A$70, Briefcase (Hogwarts trunk) container A$55, drink cup A$30 and popcorn tin A$25. The A$110 Hogwarts Express figure that circulated as an unconfirmed pre-order rumour in July turns out to have been exactly right
🇯🇵 Japan
- 🇯🇵 Japan: no bucket line — every admission comes with a free Ollivanders-art sticker that also earns a free Butterbeer mini sundae at Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo

🇹🇼 Taiwan
- 🇹🇼 Taiwan: local press reports a full-scale Nimbus 2000 bucket at select cinemas, chain and price still unnamed
🇭🇰 Hong Kong
- 🇭🇰 Hong Kong: a free limited 25th-anniversary poster with every ticket, while stocks last
🇹🇭 Thailand
✦ Available in Thailand ✦
- 🇹🇭 Thailand (Major Cineplex): the drop has grown beyond the 1,190 THB (about US$33) Broomstick Bucket — an official second wave adds a 64oz Tin Tub (359 THB, ~US$10) and 32oz Gripper Cups in all four house colors (520 THB each, ~US$14), sold as popcorn-and-drink sets. Delivery apps — LINE MAN, Grab, ShopeeFood and Robinhood — got everything first on August 1, with theater popcorn counters and Major Popcorn kiosks at participating branches following August 8, plus free same-day soda refills on theater purchases through September 30. Thai fans are already treating it as a grab-it-before-it’s-gone drop, as the post below makes clear
Tickets and Screenings
Tickets went on sale worldwide July 31 — Harry’s birthday — via Fandango and chain sites, though launch day brought widespread glitches and missing showtimes. Sorcerer’s Stone screens with 12 minutes of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage, and September 1 brings the official Back to Hogwarts Showcase livestream plus an HBO Max fan event in London with a first look at the HBO series ahead of its Christmas Day premiere.
A quick honesty note: everything priced above comes from the chains’ own shops and announcements; unpriced items are officially revealed but awaiting details, and we’ll update as the drops land through August.
