The Harry Potter ICE! Attraction We Uncovered in June Is Now Official — Here’s Everything Inside

The owl has officially landed. Back in June, we uncovered a Texas state filing naming the Gaylord Texan’s 2026 holiday attraction “ICE Event 2026-Harry Potter” — and today, right on schedule, Gaylord Hotels made it official: ICE! featuring Harry Potter is coming to Grapevine this Christmas.

Every detail from that filing held up. The attraction runs November 13, 2026 through January 3, 2027 at the Gaylord Texan Resort on Lake Grapevine, carved from more than two million pounds of ice by master artisans traveling from Harbin, China, who arrive in October to start work. The whole thing is kept at a frosty 9 degrees, blue parkas provided.

What’s Inside

  • A towering ice sculpture of Hedwig greeting visitors at the entrance
  • 10 themed rooms, including Hogsmeade Station, the Forbidden Forest, The Three Broomsticks, The Great Hall, and Hogwarts Castle
  • Six two-story ice slides in the castle room leading to a Quidditch Pitch finale that lights up in each house’s colors
  • Part of the resort’s 22nd annual Lone Star Christmas, with 2 million lights and a 54-foot tree

The announcement is part of a bigger expansion: ICE! grows to eight resorts across the U.S. this year with three new themes — Harry Potter, Home Alone, and Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas — but the Wizarding World edition is exclusive to the Texan. Tickets start at about $33 and are on sale now, with early-bird packages available through Gaylord’s SoMuchChristmas site.
