TikTok Seller Realizes Her Sold Jumper Is Headed Straight to the Harry Potter Set
Every Potterhead has dreamed of being part of the Wizarding World. One vintage clothing seller on TikTok stumbled into it without even trying.
The reseller recently sold a vintage sweatshirt — a fleece-lined women’s medium in a bold teal, blue, and purple geometric print — and shipped it to an address that stopped fans cold: Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, the home of HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series. The clincher was on the shipping label itself: “Dark Train,” the confirmed production code name for the new show. She filmed herself showing both the sold listing and the label as proof.
Still in her pajamas and ready for bed, she said she couldn’t pack the order without filming it first. A lifelong fan who rewatches the films almost nightly, she said the sale “made my little vintage seller heart freak out.”
The detail lines up neatly with what we already know about the production. In the behind-the-scenes special Finding Harry: The Craft Behind the Magic, the costume team described studying exactly what people wore in 1991 to make the show’s Muggle world feel real, leaning on a pastel palette and the synthetic fabrics of the era. A boldly patterned vintage sweatshirt is precisely the kind of period-correct piece a wardrobe department sourcing authentic Muggle clothing would hunt down.
There’s no way to confirm whether the piece actually lands on screen, or which season it’s bound for — Season 1 arrives on Christmas Day, while Season 2, adapting Chamber of Secrets, heads into production this autumn. But “Dark Train” is the real deal, which makes this a little more than wishful thinking.
