Tim Hortons Goes Back to Hogwarts With House Donuts, Snitch Timbits and a Colour-Changing Patronus Cup
Somewhere in Canada, a Slytherin is about to order a chocolate pistachio donut and feel profoundly seen.
Tim Hortons is going Back to Hogwarts. Starting August 12, Tims restaurants across Canada roll out a fully licensed Harry Potter menu built around the annual Back to Hogwarts celebration and the 25th anniversary of the first film. It is the chain’s first officially licensed Harry Potter collaboration in Canada, and it stretches well past a single novelty drink.
“Harry Potter has been a beloved part of so many of our guests’ lives for decades and we couldn’t be more excited for Canadians to discover the wizarding world at Tims restaurants,” said Hope Bagozzi, Chief Marketing Officer for Tim Hortons.

One donut per House
- Gryffindor — Strawberry Cheesecake Donut
- Slytherin — Chocolate Pistachio Donut
- Ravenclaw — Blueberry Donut
- Hufflepuff — Lemon Meringue Donut
Everyone also gets Golden Snitch Caramel Timbits, which can be ordered in a limited-edition Golden Snitch Timbits Holder.
The cups do a trick
Order a Patronus Sparkling Quencher or a Forbidden Forest Iced Tea Quencher and it arrives in a temperature-activated cup that reveals a trail of Patronuses once the cold drink hits it. The Patronus Sparkling Quencher can be customised with lemonade or a protein dairy beverage, or ordered frozen. The Forbidden Forest Iced Tea Quencher is limited to participating restaurants that serve fountain beverages.
Merch worth keeping
Alongside the Snitch holder there is a colour-changing Stir Wand that turns blue when it meets a cold drink, a nod to the Patronus Charm. Participating restaurants will also carry gift cards with a limited-edition “25 Years of Magic” design.
While supplies last, orders come in Harry Potter packaging — single-item and multi-pack donut boxes, 10- and 20-pack Timbits boxes, and cold beverage cups — which Tims says is loaded with easter eggs for fans.
Trivia Night and a trip to London
On August 28, participating restaurants host a Harry Potter Trivia Night marking the first film’s 25th anniversary and the Back to Hogwarts kickoff. Tim Hortons says a list of participating locations and further details are still to come.
Separately, from August 17 to September 6, guests who order and scan for Tims Rewards in-restaurant, in the app or on TimShop.ca are entered to win one of two grand prizes: a Harry Potter VIP experience for two in London, England.
If you are not in Canada
This one is Canada-only, and Tim Hortons has not announced pricing or any plans to take it elsewhere. If you are within reach of the border it is worth folding into a trip, since the promotion runs through the Back to Hogwarts season rather than a single weekend. Otherwise, the collectible pieces — the Snitch Timbits Holder and the Stir Wand especially — tend to surface on resale sites within days of a launch like this, usually at a markup, so temper expectations. Following Tim Hortons directly remains the fastest way to catch a wider rollout if one ever comes.
