WBD Will Pull Back the Curtain on Harry Potter’s Future at a Free London Keynote This October
The people who decide what magic lands on shelves next are about to show their hand. Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products will take the stage at Brand Licensing Europe (BLE) this October for an exclusive keynote revealing the strategic playbook behind the Wizarding World, as the franchise marks 25 years since Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone first lit up cinema screens.

The Details
The keynote takes place Wednesday, October 7, from 1:45–2:30pm on the License Global Main Stage at ExCeL London, during BLE’s October 6–8 run. Best of all for fans within reach of London: attendance is free — you just need to register for a BLE visitor pass before October 5.
Robert Oberschelp, President of Global Consumer Products at Warner Bros. Discovery, and Johanne Broadfield, Senior Vice President EMEA, will sit down with License Global’s Amanda Cioletti to dig into:
- Market-specific activation — how Harry Potter campaigns are tailored across global markets while keeping the brand consistent
- Heritage vs. innovation — balancing the films’ legacy with fresh ventures like the upcoming HBO series
- Lifecycle extension — the tactics for keeping the franchise thriving decade after decade
- Brand protection at scale — safeguarding the magic through massive global rollouts
Why Fans Should Care
This is a rare public look at the commercial thinking that decides which merch, collectibles, and experiences actually reach fans — from the 25 Years of Magic celebration rolling out all year to whatever comes next in the HBO era.
“A quarter of a century after first lighting up our cinema screens, Harry Potter has become one of the highest grossing film franchises ever and continues to generate unprecedented global commercial success,” said BLE Event Director Ella Haynes.
