Dobby Is a Keychain Now: Bandai’s New Gashapon Charms Give Magical Creatures the Fuzzy Flocked Treatment
Accio, pocket change. Bandai’s Gashapon division has revealed a new capsule-toy line that turns some of the Wizarding World’s most beloved creatures into tiny, touchably fuzzy charms — and yes, Dobby made the cut.

The Harry Potter & Fantastic Beasts Magical Creatures Capsule Flockies Charm series features five designs: Dobby, Hedwig and a Pygmy Puff from the Harry Potter films, plus the Niffler and Demiguise from Fantastic Beasts. The signature trick is the flocked finish — a soft, velvety coating on Dobby’s clothing and the creatures’ fur that gives each charm a plush, tactile feel rather than the usual hard plastic.
The Details
- Lineup: Dobby, Hedwig, Pygmy Puff, Niffler, Demiguise (5 total)
- Price: 400 yen per capsule (roughly $3)
- Release: Fifth week of August 2026
- Where: Gashapon capsule machines in Japan
A Look at the Lineup

How International Fans Can Grab One
These are Japanese capsule-machine exclusives, so they won’t turn up at US retail. Fans outside Japan can watch proxy-buying services like Buyee or ZenMarket, or check eBay and specialty importers once the series drops at the end of August, where full sets of blind-capsule toys are often resold together.
A quick, cheap way to bring a little magic to your keys or bag — assuming the machine gods grant you the Niffler and not your fourth Pygmy Puff.
